Our South Pacific hotel guide aims to help you find the right accommodation for your holidays by offering for free the largest collection of independently taken photographs of South Pacific hotels from all around the islands. We have personally visited the majority of hotels in Fiji, Cook Islands, Tonga, Samoa, Vanuatu, New Caledonia and Tahiti, and have selected what we consider the best South Pacific hotels in all price categories from upmarket resorts to backpacker hostels.

Tonga and Samoa are very low key tourist destinations with just a handful of resorts, whilst Vanuatu is popular as an adventure detsination with a fascinating and very authentic traditional culture. Both Tahiti and New Caledonia are French speaking destinations and appeal more to the European market, with Tahiti popualr for its romantic overwater bungalows, and New Caledonia for its sophisticated seaside town of Noumea. Most are reasonably priced compared to world standards, offer breathtaking beach settings with exceptional snorkelling, with wonderful and genuine hospitality. Food quality is sometimes lacking due to limited resources and the fact that isolated locations and small number of guests make it impracticle to keep a broad menu. The Cook Islands is the preferred destination for a laid back holiday with lots of small self catering beach bungalows and excellent restaurants. Tahiti is renowned for its glamorous over water bungalows, but is very expensive. Samoa excels in offering traditional beach bungalows alongside exquisite beaches and amongst stunning coastal scenery. Tonga is the ideal geataway from the crowds holiday with a couple of small resorts and great beaches and snorkelling. Hawaii, in the North Pacific, has many large hotels and bed and breakfast guesthouses and is ideal for those wanting to experience the bustle of Waikiki Beach or for people who love golfing and sightseeing holidays.
